Sew Forth Alterations is a locally owned sewing shop in Lawrence, Kansas that opened in March 2018. Located in the historic Hillcrest Shopping Center at 9th and Iowa Street.

We specialize in quality alterations on all types of clothing including Wedding Gowns, Formal Wear, Menswear, Career Wear, Casual Clothing, Denim, Coats, Military and More. 

We can hem your bridesmaid dress, replace your coat zipper or mend your favorite pair of jeans. If your wedding gown already fits, we offer bustling and preservation services.

A little bit of history:

Sew Forth Alterations was formerly known as Aneita's Alterations and Sew Forth from 1990-2018. Before that, the business was called "The Shop" from 1979-1990 and was located at 19th and Massachusetts Street. Sadly, Aneita passed away in 2018. After 20 years with the team, Melanie Freeman-Dietz, Aneita's niece, has carried on the family tradition of the perfect fit.  Melanie is an experienced seamstress, lifelong Kansan and owner of the shop.
