About Us:
Sew Forth Alterations is a locally owned sewing shop in Lawrence, KS. It was formerly known as Aneita's Alterations and Sew Forth from 1990-2018. Before that, the business was called "The Shop" from 1979-1990 and was located at 19th and Massachusetts Street. Sadly, Aneita passed away in March 2018. After 20 years with the team, Melanie Freeman-Dietz, Aneita's niece, has carried on the family tradition of the perfect fit.
We specialize in quality alterations on all types of clothing including Wedding Gowns, Formal Wear, Menswear, Casual Clothing, Denim, Coats, Military and More. We can hem your bridesmaid dress, replace your coat zipper or mend your favorite pair of jeans. If your wedding gown already fits, we offer steaming, bustling and preservation services. Have a special request or not sure if your garment can be sewn? Stop by today and one of our experienced seamstresses will see if we can work our magic.

Have wrinkles? We also offer gown steaming. Steaming is available for wedding gowns, bridesmaid, mothers, flower girl, and prom dresses. We prefer to have at least a week's notice for steaming orders to prepare.
